Welcome

To the part of the site that gives you more information about the new adult advancement and careers service which is a core component of the government's continuing skills strategy.

Working with key partners, the underlying aim of the new service is not just to help people into jobs, but to help break the cycle of low skills, short-term jobs and low wages.

The new service will be:

  • modern, responsive and personalised to the needs of individual customers.
  • universal with 'no wrong door'. Everyone can access information and help about training, developing the right skills and finding sustainable employment.
  • helping people tackle the main barriers to learning and training - lack of money and/or caring responsibilities.

This is a very exciting time for those of us involved in careers services. We are looking forward to working with you over the coming months to build a world-class service that will play a vital role in helping build a competitive world-class skills base that can compete in the global arena.

If you haven't done so already, please sign up to the email alert.
